Are your chicken products gluten-free?
We offer a wide range of gluten-free products, available in grocery stores across
the country. All of our unbreaded products and some of our breaded products are
gluten-free. Any product that contains gluten will be clearly labeled on the package.
How long should I cook a whole chicken, and at what temperature?
For best results, bake a whole chicken at 350 degrees F in a conventional oven.
Cook the chicken for approximately 20 minutes per pound (for example, cook a three
pound bird for 60 minutes), or until an internal temperature of 180 degrees F has
been reached, as measured by a meat thermometer.
What do you feed your chickens?
Our nutritionists develop feed formulations to make sure our chickens get a steady
diet of the finest natural grain products, including yellow corn, soybean meal,
vitamins and mineral supplements.
Are your chickens free range?
Our chickens are raised in large poultry barns, which protect the birds from environmental
extremes while also allowing fresh air to circulate constantly. These structures
offer the birds plenty of room to move around freely.
Do you sell halal chicken?
Where can I get nutritional information for your products?
Our products section on this website lists nutritional information
for each retail product. For foodservice products, visit our Pierce website, poultry.com.
Are your chickens produced in the United States?
All of our chickens sold in the United States are grown and processed in the United
States. Additionally, we have three plants in Mexico – those chickens are either
sold in Mexico or exported to other countries.
How long can I keep your chicken salad in the refrigerator or freezer after opening?
In the refrigerator, the salad can be kept for 16 weeks unopened or for 7 days after
opening. In the freezer, the salad can be kept for three months regardless of whether
it has been opened or not.
Do your chickens receive any antibiotics?
We use antibiotics
only as instructed by our federally accredited and licensed poultry veterinarians.
The antibiotics are used in strict accordance with FDA and USDA guidelines, leaving
our products free of harmful residues – a fact verified by on-site USDA sampling.
Do your chickens receive any hormones or steroids?
No. Our chickens do not receive growth hormones or steroids in any way. In fact,
the use of hormones has been illegal in poultry production since 1952.
Do you still produce turkeys?
No, we sold our turkey plant in 2008 to New Oxford Foods.
